Oh well, it's a compliment you'de think so Stonegloves (unless I come off as a fluffy brained youngster - dont answer that!) but I was going back more than 20 years and remember the Glasshouse. You've got to walk now if you want to sleep on Arthur's Seat, they have barriers to stop cars going up there at night in these less innocent times. Which is odd considering what Beltane is like on Carlton Hill.
Is it still an urban landscape on Arthur's Seat? Even so. The rangers are really good there, as far as training goes. They have a nice building as a centre of operations, and not only look after all that and direct a team of groundsmen, but they host events for children and adults to go along and learn all about biodiversity, geology, and even storytelling walks. I've been thinking about becoming a volunteer ranger in the winter months instead of sitting in the house reading.
