I photographed a couple very similar but made of clay from the finds in Knowth 1 (East), in among all the small beads. They are drawn in Eogan's 1986 Thames and Hudson book. One is superbly preserved but was in a creamtion so a bit blackened and encrusted, there's nothing missing on it though. Very similar, almost identical in shape, to the first stone ball on the left in the original post, with a hole through the middle. There's also a half clay bead that would have looked quite similar. The whole one is a very pretty thing!
