Interesting stuff - although I'm not convinced about the roof idea, it would be interesting to hear from someone who is knowledgeable in the various methodologies discussed; I have a nice image in my raddled head of reeds being collected by banks of the Avon to be used in the thatching process. Of course, it is a fact that some of the trilithons are not sunk very deep in the chalk, and I wopuld have thought that any technology that was able to produce 40ft-plus beams for its roof, would have an inkling of the niceties of good footings..... :-)
