Hi Cropredy,

Sorry to take so long to reply, I can't spend as much time here as I'd often like to.

Cropredy sounds like a amazing place, I'll put it on my Must Visit When I'm Nearby list :-)

Boscastle Quartz, nice one, there's a lot on Bodmin Moor, too. I've worked with crystals for several years and much prefer them in their natural state to cut gemstones. I've Quartz from several places, I hasten to add they are all loose pieces lying on the ground that catch my eye, I don't ever dig or despoil. My own tiny piece of the Wicklow Mountains is a particular favourite as are several seawashed bits from all around Ireland and a friend from the French Alps brings me some she finds there whenever she visits.

Yours is the first reference I've seen to Abbot Suger, when I get some spare time, I'll do some more research into the Dionysian stuff and see which particular gems he used in which locations and see if it makes any 'sense' re which stones were used for what purpose.
Certainly, for healing, different crystal layouts create a different ambience or energy grid if you prefer, but I gueess that wasn't at the forefront of his mind ;-)

The ancient people knew a lot about the properties of minerals, quartz is prevalent in the stones in many circles, often forming large striations and quartz pebbles are commonly found with in burials. The floors of some mounds have a layer of yellow clay, some stones in some circles aren't made of local stone and it's thought they were brought because of their specific properties.

>>>,I am sure that with the dowsing abilities I have that the location and measurements of the constructions will be better understood, but it is hard to get out of My head something so complex when I am not very academic and hardly know how to write never mind puzzle this thing which all My senses hate ,as they hate mobile phones, that is an other subject that needs debate. <<<

Do you keep a record or scale map or chart of what you find at different places? Some dowsers publish theirs on the internet, some form groups and survey different sites.

Big list here

I agree with not liking mobiles, I hardly use mine.

Must dash, be back in a few days,
