You've got to the very heart of the issue IMO Goff.
Some people who fail to get scientists to accept what they say call scientists closed-minded when in fact the whole point of being a scientist is to be open to absolutely anything subject only to the proviso there has to be evidence for it.
...and that there is no convenient continuing mindset to ignore/filter anamolous results that do not quite fit the existing parameters/modus operandi of research, let alone 'acceptability', as always, hence no potential 'evidence'. Perish the thought.
