Records that you have more affection for than is usually tolerated

In the interest of balance, there should really be a thread covering this too.

This Heat - First Album
(When I went to a gig recently with a group of friends during the pre-gig chat This Heat got mentioned. I said I thought their first album was better than Deceit. The reaction was as if I'd taken a dump on the table. Also got a similar reaction when in a record shop once waiting to pay and someone was asking the assistant what Deceit was like. I butted in to say I preferred the first album and got a dirty look from the surly member of staff. Deceit is just too overtly song-y and political to my ears in comparison to the revelation of the first album.)

The Smiths - Strangeways Here We Come
(Just more entertaining and musically innovative than The Queen Is Dead to my ears. Unfortuantely this opinion makes me a pariah in some circles.)

Bowie - Lodger
(Regarded as a sonic turd by many, I love this. OK, it's not as stunning as the other two Berlin albums, but I really like it's unhinged qualities and it's got enough good sing-along-a-Bowie moments to make it a great cracked pop record.)
