I've seen him live (on TV) in this carnation, but I just find the whole Oscar Wilde imagery he uses now dead trite. When he was young, skinny and speccy it was so exciting, but for him to allude to that now is just taking the piss.
I thought that 'First in the gang to die' thing unashamedly ripped off Suede's 'Trash' (which is a very great tune indeed).
I think 'I Know it's over' is one of the dullest things they've ever done (only the likes of 'That Joke isn't funny any more' strikes that awesome comi/tragedy balance).
