Depends what your'e dowsing for .
Sand ? , has been known to work .
Water , seems to get avoided .
Ley Lines , place is covered in them .
How do you think the camels know where to go ?
Maybe something to do with carrying the rods , but do dowsers ever walk more than couple of miles from the road/car ?
Do they always have to walk directly over something to detect it then? I believe there are those that ask a question in their heads and get a response from the rods.
It's usually a pendulum , if done remotely . Then again others dispense with the rods and pendulums altogether as they are only amplifiers ,so if you are "good enough " just use your hands . Never heard of it being done but don't see why , if you are "really good " , you even need your hands . Couldn't imagine Catherine Brent doing that though http://www.britishpathe.com/video/girl-water-diviner .
