I'd like to think it's some deep seated subconscious guilt, but that's wishful thinking on my part, the truth is probably "what can we do with these spare stones?" [it's something they think looks good, is easy to build and free to them], I hate quarries but i also know that one of the first quarries built stenness and Brogar, but even this doesn't stop me hating them all.
