There are "Gorsedd" circles in loads of Welsh towns and cities (perhaps the best-known one is in the park next to Cardiff Castle).

On a recent walk past Rhoose Point - the southernmost point on the Welsh mainland - we passed a modern circle erected by Blue Circle (ha!) cement to "commemorate" the fact they had stopped destroying the geology and had "given it back" to the community. Cynical thought that seems, I was intrigued that they had chosen a stone circle (with an enormous, out of scale central pillar 3m+ tall) as the monument to reflect this.
