Yes you can, you can be 'friends' with groups such as towns, schools, pubs, clubs, forums etc which on the face of it sound pretty crass, however, what these are doing is allowing you to get regular feeds what is going on in these areas. For example groups such a Heritage Action & Devizes Museum produce almost daily alerts providing me with information that will interest me.
I do not see anything wrong with that do you?
