Thge first records which really grabbed me and inaugurated a lifelong obsession with all music ... were .. in chronological order ..

1976 (age 8) - The Geoff Love Orchestra plays the Great War Movie Themes.

1977 - Star Wars OST, John Williams

1978 - Bat out of Hell, Meatloaf

1979 - Out of the Blue, ELO

1980 - Deepest Purple, Deep Purple

1981 - Highway to Hell, AC/DC. This was Year Zero for me - this record (and the onset of puberty!) changed everything, catalysing a transformation from someone who was fond of a good tune to an out-and-out obsessive. I never really recovered.
