Hawkwind every time. As much as I love a lot of Gong albums, I always felt they improved immensly when Daevid Allen just shut the fuck up!

On the occassion I met Daevid Allen after a Gong gig, I went to shake his hand and the bloke acted like such an utter cock, it put me off Gong for ages. On the occassion I bumped into Dave Brock in the street once (he'd been to buy a toothbrush!), he was perfectly nice and down to earth.

I've seen Hawkwind about 30-something times, where as I've seen Gong 3 times - so no competition really. Saying that, Ali Baba Have You Any Bullshit contains the best psychedelic guitar solo ever!
