Indeed they were. So bad that I thought that the Richard Lloyd person was a last minute stand-in. Maybe it was. Either way not good enough.

Aimee Mann is another one. People raved about the first two albums. Can't see it myself.

Did you ever see The Posies? They were pretty great on their day. Not Jellyfish tho.

Perhaps you get a better critical reaction if you are a bit plain looking, don't make any effort to put on a show and just bang on about your undying love for Big Star rather than Queen. Seems to be a bit of a pattern in the world of Power Pop.
