Hail!

Been hearing...

White Stripes - Icky Thump. I know they seem to irk folk on here but I love 'em and this one really rocks as does...

The Raconteurs - Consolers of The Lonely. Rockier and ...er....garageierier than the debut. Like it a lot!

Mushroom River Band - Music For The World Beyond. Stormin psyche-tinged scando stoner stomping.

Julian Cope - The Unruly Imagination. Class!
Julian Cope - Audience With...

Cathedral - The Serpents Gold. Top comp of ace Brit doomster riff lords.

3 Inches of Blood - Fire Up the Blades. Ace orc-battering Canuck mythtasic metaliment! Swing that axe Skullsplitter!

Saviours - Into Abaddon. Sabbath, Motorhead & Maiden collide in a pleasingly primitive way. Rocketh like fuck!

Grobschnitt - Solar Music Live. Krautastic live noodles and glambient grooves.

Titan - A Raining Sun of Light and Love For You & You & You. Not played this for awhile. Truly splendid, managing to cram much to delight the ears in about 40 mins. Great, great album. Have they done another?

Blood Ceremony - S/T Again, not played for awhile. Majestic Jethro Sabbath melange. Skill!

Speed Garage Compilations from various dance mags of yore. The 15 minute dance genre but some top tunes to boing the bass bins with. RE-Wiiiiiind!

Bat For Lashes - Fur & Gold / Two Suns. Still enchanting the catpod. Yum!

Danny Elfman - Batman OST. Best Bat theme ever and some great incidental tunes

Intelligent Drum N Bass double Vinyl Comp . Terrible title, great music.

Project 23 - S/T Drum n Bass renta-vocals Cleveland Watkiss's own thang from years agone.

Mother Earth - You Have Been Watching. Rockier than earlier stuff but some great songs.

Have a nice week sound scoopers! x

two others.
i) an early untitled cdr on paradigms recordings. Ltd to 750 copies
&
ii) an early cdr called 'pilzmarmelade' which was recently (say, within the last year) reissued on LP format. re-ish ltd to 500 copies.

Not sure if either are still available.

That 35007 album is great. I've got that and another self-titled one. Do you have any others?

I've got 2002's Liquid and the s/t you have but not the debut Especially For You. No time to describe Liquid at length (I'm doing tea and the kids are going mad with space guns) but it's definitely worth picking up - 4 long tracks so probably less 'song'-oriented and more given to the doomy swells and flows like 'Undo' from s/t.

A mixed bag as usual

Scratch and the Upsetters...Super Ape
Mott The Hoople...Mott
Kraftwerk...Man Machine.I got this for £1 at a bootfair.God this took me back.Well to 1980 when I visited Germany as a teenager and scored a vinyl copy then.In the intervening years I had lost it.Strange how what sounded so far ahead of its time has become so imitated.
King Crimson...In The Court Of The Crimson King...same bootfair and a quid again.
Messiaen..Vingt Regards Sur L'Enfant Jesus
Santana...Lotus

Various Artists- Top 300 Space Disco Collection.

-This is addictive stuff! I don't know much about it- supposedly 70s Italian electronica, but possibly more recent, or recently remixed- anyway, its sort of Georgio Moroder Kraftwerk Daft Punk minimalist electro frothy fun.

The Implosion Quintet- The Future Sound of Yesterday.

-one guy in his bedroom, in Norway, natch, making gentle electronica that occasionally sounds like ye olde psychedelic rock entirely reconstructed from samples.

The Associates- Fourth Drawer Down.

-How brilliantly mad were The Associates? And to think this passed for Top 20 pop in the day.

Lene Lovich- Stateless.

-An overlooked LP- the missing link between Patti Smith and Sparks?

Felt- Forever Breathes The Lonely Word.

Denim- Back in Denim.

-Thanks for the prompt, Charlie!

Julian Cope- The Unruly Imagination.

Julian Cope- Black Sheep.

-So I put on 'unruly' and think, yeah, this is better than Black Sheep. Then I put on 'sheep' and think, no, this is by far the better LP- I can't choose! Julian, you are spoiling us!

Wolfmangler- Dwelling in a Dead Raven for the Glory of Crucified Wolves.

-Dipping my toe into the doom diaspora, I'm loving this! It's like Noggin The Nog meets The Exorcist! Any recommendations on other similar stuff I should explore?

And also:

The Warlocks- The Mirror Explodes.

The Faint- Fascination.

Field Music- Tones of Town.

The Star Spangles- Bazooka!!!

The Horrors- Primary Colours.

Stravinsky- Cantata: Mass: Requiem for Dylan Thomas.
