Oh, RG, I know you are! And if I didn't enjoy a certain amount of winding up, I guess I wouldn't still be here, so here goes.
I would say there are 2 factions of geocaching. There are many of us who would and do go out and hike and see the countryside and pick up litter as we go. Many of us found out about geocaching through hiking, orienteering, or exploring channels. Those of us would do this sort no matter what. Then there are the ones that are in it for the technology aspect. They like high tech toys, and plotting these things on charts and maps and stuff. Those types probably would not have ever left the desk if it wasn't for geocaching. Those types are often the most enjoyable logs to read, because of the way they express the joy and wonderment of experiencing these things for the very 1st time.
