Do the punters at SH at solstice believe that they are re-enacting an ancient ceremony ?
If so ,I didn't realise that .

Ceremonial at solstice seems likely because of the calendrical aspect of solstice i.e. it's easy to work out for those who don't have a calendar on the wall and you set off a few days before the sun sets or rises on your local marker ,but there is no evidence of feasting at SH ,unlike Durrington which also lacks the burials at SH .
The bloke who owns Durrington would probably prefer things to stay as they are .
