Without science we would still be thinking these monuments were built by the Mycenaens , Druids or Romans , not only do we know when many were built but also they were a result of activity at the same site for great periods , we can tell the age of burials and in some cases their diet and a rough idea where they were born .
It is true we may never know why a monument was built , that type of arrogance is the what we might expect from astrologers and woo merchants , but we have a much better understanding of them due to science .
Putative alignments have never been discovered by astrologers of any ilk , the Stonehenge alignment was first noted by Stukeley who used scientific methods in his work and was a fellow of the Royal Society .

Are you suggesting that big bellies are related to historical beliefs about the the stomach being the seat of the soul ?
