They're very common in the area around kinder and bleaklow, lower level walks too if you know where to head, if you ever fancy a days walk around here i can guarantee you'll see at least one if not several. ; )


They are great fun in summer as they think they are invisible , you can walk up to them and they often go into crouch mode rather than run


Where the hell is all this wildlife??! I have only seen Arctic hares when I lived in the Alps (to be honest, I didnt even know you got them over here, is that a bit thick of me?)

I can make lots of claims to wildlife, but all of them while living overseas! Ah well...


If you really want to see a mountain hare the most obvious place in Scotland is Ben Chonzie near Comrie in Perthshire the araea is hoaching ,they do tend to be eastern and slightly central but that is the mountain hare capital of Scotland .
