I've recently heard about dozens of peregrine falcons being shot in Ireland - while they're crossing the country on their way to the city to breed. Apparently pigeon fanciers are fed up of their birds being picked off by the falcons. I like pigeons but that is ridiculous. Local news also gave a load of airtime to some whingers round here who wanted Something Done About the Peregrines. FFS. It's amazing we have any wildlife left at all.
