Walton Basin
Aug 02, 2003, 14:26
I just spat and cursed a thousand times. The Hill in question is actually the Whimble (not Llan Fawr, pah, Multimap , gah) and Bache Hill. Which gives me more leverage, on account of being sited on the western horizon of Hindwell pallisaded enclosure and the Four Stones.

I can't be there for some time, and have had scant opportunity so far to explore the area, yet it fills me with awe, I can only assume it did the same way back. And just why was Walton Basin so hugely significant? And why is there a 37 hectare (later Neolithic) pallisaded enclosure right there. And is it the largest in Western Europe? C'mon Julian Cope pull yr finger out! ;-)
