I remember a thread on the word 'pagan' a long time ago here which was as long as this one.

Yes, baza, it will have to be a huge book, maybe it's already in the making!

The word pagan is another of those modern bastard words that confuses lots of people. Paganism only exists in opposition to established religion (Christianity in our case) therefore I use the word pagan as non-christian, never as a set of beliefs because there isn't one. I am also not referring to modern paganism but to early religion(s) before Christianity arrived. Of course modern pagans can call themselves pagan (for lack of a better word and in the sense I have outlined before) but it most probably has very little to do with ancient beliefs.
