Pretty much the same as last week in terms of listening highlights being...
Carlos Santana & Alice Coltrane - Illuminations
Airbourne - Running Wild. If you like AC/DC /Rose Tattoo you should like this. If you don't, you won't.
Shrine of The Monkey - Under Blackened Skies. Fun stoner metal.
Them Crooked Vultures - S/T Delivers more and more on repeated hearings.
The Darkness - Permission to Land
The Shining - Grindstone. Superb jazz ( plus opera!) metal skronk. Less overtly black metal than "Black Jazz" and reminds me in parts of...
King Crimson - Starless & Bible Black, Discipline, The Power to Believe.
Comus - First Utterance. I was afraid that after the infernal majesty of the gig that listening to Comus on record again would be a bit of a damp squib. Delighted to say otherwise; I'd say the gig has made me appreciate this even more.
Julian Cope - Jehovahcoat Demos
Basement Jaxx - Scars
187 Lockdown - S/T
DVD:
Daredevil: the Directors Cut. You might think a directors cut of Daredevil might prove to be the definition of a pointless turd polishing exercise, but this really is SO much a better film than the theatrical release it's bewildering why they didn't release this as is. Mad!
Have a nice week tune twiddlers x
