I used to have Out Of The Silent Planet & Gretchen Goes To Nebraska on vinyl, and Faith Hope Love on CD, FHL went on too much IIRC would certainly have benefitted from some editing and the other two were OK, one song about groupies stands out in my memory but they seemed to have a lot of so-so tracks, excellent musicians, average songwriters
They probably got purged when Tool came along, in my eyes Tool fill the US mainstream fiddly alt rock niche much better
Never had any problem with the christianity bit, they certainly didn't force it down your throat, biggest problem was much like latter day Rush was they seemed more concerned with technique than skill
