It's been said before by others, but try "Letzte Tage - Letzte Nächte" before giving up. It's one of Popol Vuh's three masterpieces and the best of their "rock"-oriented albums. It also features Renate Knaup on vocals and most resembles ADII of Popol Vuh's albums, though is hardly a copy.
I think "Hosianna Mantra" might even be better, but have to admit that my view is not universally shared and many don't like the album, thinking it too pretty. It's not; achingly beautiful rather than saccharine sweet, it is.
