Indeed.
According to the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) the total electricity demand for Europe is roughly 3,000 TWh...
http://www.no-fuel.org/index.php?id=241
(I extrapolated this figure from their claim that 83 TWh is provided by current windfarms and that equates to 2.8% of European demand).
Then check out the UK government estimate of potential wind power resources (Table 2.2 in the follwoing PDF)...
http://www.dti.gov.uk/energy/leg_and_reg/consents/future_offshore/chp2.pdf
If you combine the totals from the 5m - 30m farms and the 30m - 50m farms, you get over 3,200 TWh. And that's the UK alone! It doesn't include Scandanavia, Ireland, etc etc etc.
