Gaelic was spoken in the Anglo Gaelic kingdom ,e.g. the court at Bamburgh and Irish monks would have also had an influence . Other glens in Northumberland . Glen ,Dhu , Aln , Ridley ,Hill , Dale and River Glen .

You can’t take a picture of something or see it if a wall and trees are in the way and the fact that it couldn’t be seen even if the way was clear won’t help either . But you can calculate it . You must take the altitude into consideration , in the case of the line of stones to Glendue Fell (the horizon ,not Amos hill ) if the horizon was flat or minimal you would have been able to see the solstice sun set but in the real world it provides an altitude of 2.14 which means the sun never reaches that point .
Theres a bit more to this than Google Earth .
