Black Sabbath aren't unsung either. They're a has-been rock band.

Was Scott Walker a fading chart singer when Cope put out that compilation LP of his. The Walker Brothers were hardly Unsung. There might be a point that a lot of Scott's stuff wasn't readily available, but that was pre-CD and stuff is often kept readily available know days (though Relentless is slightly rare).

DO THE SANE THING...

BRAVO x 3 with a standing ovation!

If I'm watching TV and Big Brother comes on- I click to another channel.

When I'm mooching around the HH reviews and I'm (f'rinstance) not really 'attuned' to someone's review of an album (which hasn't happened yet!), then I would simply click to read another one!

Let's put these claws away!

Hot Poop to go!

Stevo,

I remember reading about that Hendrix / ELP joining forces rumour - (H)ELP! -which certainly would have trashed Emerson's 'traditional white music' theory! My imagination runs riot thinking of JH spraying feedback and sending his strings howling all over parts of "The Barbarian" which would have been an ear-popping pleasure then.........and now! :-)

Well I like reading bad reviews as long as it's funny!

Like I'm not a fan of Foreigner but don't you have the right to post a positive review of Foreigner if you want even if most people here look down on it?

I didn't care whether Faith was Unsung or not, it just happened to be one of the records I listened to the most and I had to write why I thought so.

'if you've never heard them then you've obviously been living in a cave for the past dozen years'

again, that is your ridiculous judgemental higher-than-thou attitude towards other people's lives; you think the rest of the world who dont read the nme are leading 'obscure' lives (?) i would never judge you for not knowing bands i consider top of the pops in my book; perhaps other people will even think you have been living in a cave if you think those bands are 'obscure'...

or perhaps your neighbour regards you as 'obscure' for being into bands like suede who she's never heard of ...

'My point was that there are people who appear to like music because it is obscure and not because of anything to do with the music'

That is rubbish. I dont know anyone like that, maybe there is a collector of rare vinyl covers somewhere;
it looks like you are again making assumptions on people's tastes if the musical sphere they move around diverges from your safe, personal and well known spectrum of music

'Some of the music I like is obscure, some of it isn't. The only thing it has in common is I like it'

That's what we all have in common.
