Thanks for that Goffik, I'm guessing your post may be meant for me as I've mentioned Lewis a couple of times under this thread. I didn't see a massive wind farm when I was up there though we travelled quite a bit from Great Bernera to Harris and Uig - perhaps it was in the north where we didn't manage to get to. I would agree the wind is probably too strong a lot of the time for the turbines to function. I've never experienced anything quite like it - though I'm sure the locals take it in their stride.
