I was also going to say - how about if EH told us the cost of each option - got the funding for the tunnel version but actually carried out the least risky repair - only option? That way EH would have quite a few million to spend on research for the entire Avebury area - I personally think that theres a lot more to be found that may need far more urgent attention in the surrounding landscape.
