What I fear is a "tunnel of all trades and master of none" where it turns into a hugely expensive project that ends up compromising preservation with archaeology with tourism. In my view it is likely to get way over complicated and be just as likely to end up defaming well intentioned archaeology into "Never again at Silbury".

Lets just fix the hill. If later, a solid long term research project decides that an intrusion is required then so be it - but remember, it won't be long now before we will be experimenting with robotic archaeology - such a thing could allow for much smaller bore entrance tunnels and so seriously limit any impact.
