"Apples And Oranges" was the last Barrett-era Pink Floyd song I got around to hear, right after "Candy And A Currant Bun." A friend had recently acquired an elusive copy of "The Best of The Pink Floyd," which I borrowed to tape and do a hand-drawn rendering of the cover portrait on the afternoon of June 24, 1979CE. (Note: Only got around to Nick Mason, as well as a psychedelic logo that was far too Roger Dean for 1969.)
Syd Barrett, man. He made my world a pretty special place.
