Re: Compilation Albums.

I used to have a love for the 2 volumes of Axe Attack that came our during the NWOBHM era. First time I ever heard Aerosmith and things like Frank Marino at least.

I've never been a huge fan of compilations really. Not to say I don't like them and enjoy them on occasion, but it's just I prefer the feeling of listening to a complete album by a particular band and artist. When I'm choosing something to listen to, it will more likely be an album than a comp.

That said, and rather ironically, I am currently listening to an old Mixmag freebie "Electro House" which I still love. I do have a large collection of such things and I guess some of them are less 'compilation' albums as such and more 'sampler albums' if you see what I mean. Although, a lot of the dance comps I have a unique DJ mash ups supposedly approximating a club night or some such. And some of the covermounts with mags like Metal Hammer have resulted in the joyous discovery of new stuff.
