Get Ready – New Order
Not exactly universally loved but I like this one. And if I’m being totally honest I prefer Crystal to a lot of their earlier, more hip numbers. Anyone else think that the intro to Rock The Shack is their most Joy Division-like moment since the 80’s?

Lady from Shanghai – Pere Ubu
Interesting 2013 LP that I've got round to getting this year. Lots to like, especially the opening track, even if it has got the same melody as Ring Your Bell.

Hotel Shampoo – Gruf Rhys
If you like SFA and you haven’t got this then you really need to do something about it. This is a great pop album, like 10cc without the clever-cleverness, though the last track wouldn’t be out of place on one of the first two solo Cope LP’s.

Restless Idylls – Tropic Of Cancer
If I had to pick a fave new act of the past 2-3 years I'd probably choose Tropic Of Cancer. Slow, mournful, beautiful. This is a great album.
