If you have any affinity for 70s soul with a social / political twist then beg borrow or buy this record, it is totally and utterly brilliant. Clavinet, deep bass, multiple wah wah guitars and lots of dubby space underpin the sweetest falsetto going. I wonder if CM had been listening to "Catch A Fire"? Get this and "Back To The World". These records make "Superly" sound positively anaemic.
Yeah, that is a great record. Brilliant sleeve too. And I think you are right about Catch A Fire. I do wonder how many people own Superfly but have never bothered investigating further... their loss. Curtis was a bit of a dude
