Is anything flawless? I love Funhouse, but I wouldn't care if I ever heard LA Blues ever again. Otherwise that would come pretty close for me. I won't comment on some of the artists you mentioned, cos they're not my bag, but as I like the Stones I'll just say... Exile... I just don't get it. Lazy slobby rock. Give me Beggars, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers any day. Why this has become accepted as a 'classic' over recent(ish) years is truly beyond me. It's like London Calling to me. Over-rated, and - to re-but the usual cliche - no, I'm not sure it'd even make a great single album. Imo... ; )

That Sex Pistols albums is always a bag of laffs. Just like the Monkees, only louder & more consistent songwriting! ;-) Last time I put on Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" (driving long distance a couple months ago) that really struck me as still being about as perfect as a metal album gets. Adolescent poetry on a near-genius level and the huuuuugest riffs!

as far as I'm concerned, there are only two perfect albums. Closer - Joy Division Forever Breathes The Lonely Word - Felt

Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes. Fugazi - 13 songs (Repeater is good, but.. Anyway, actually, 'In on the killtaker' and 'steady diet of nothing' are perfect too really.) Sugarcubes - Lifes too Good. Dead Kennedys - Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables. Oval - Dok. PJ Harvey - Rid of me. Velvet Underground & Nico. African head charge - My life in a hole in the ground. Young Gods - Young Gods (esp the CD version which includes Pas Mal and Envoye) Faust - Ravvivando (prolly an unpopular choice from their discography) Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation Yo La Tengo - Electr-o-pura There'll probably be a lot more that spring to mind but it's early in the morning. I figured that most would be bands debut albums, it seems to be the case in general don't it ?
