Although, I wouldn't argue with you on the first Femmes album being perfect, I think Hallowed Ground is a better album in so many ways. Have I mentioned this before?

I will have to check them out. Quite fond of Bubblegum too, as it goes - not sure about perfect though.

The most perfect album is Nina Simone's Nina and Piano, simple as. Whereas a perfect album can be a collection of perfect songs, I feel this does much more. Whereas perfomers can perform introspectively for the benefit of the listener, and often to great effect (Wyatt, Matryn, Drake etc), this sounds more like we're evesdropping in on one woman's private moment. Intense, playful, melancholic, reflective, wistful, mesmeric, defiant, regretful, resignatory, beautiful. x
