I'd agree with 'Still Life'

Also

Gentle Giant - Octopus
Shirley Collins - Anthems In Eden
Caravan - The Land Of Grey And Pink
Hatfield & The North - Hatfield & the North
Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn

...still thinking....

i'm with you on ritual de la habitual... it's an absolute stunner... hammered it for years and still take the toffee hammer to it now when i need adrenalising... i'd also add fleetwood mac's rumours which doesn't put a foot wrong. i'd like to say yes's topographic oceans but there's the small matter of side three to contend with. the new shins album's flawless. perfection's not easy to attain. oh yeah, you can count lindisfarne's nicely out of tune too....

The Chameleons - Script Of The Bridge / Strange Times
David J - The Ettiquette of Violence

you're mention of Yo La tengo is interesting, got hold of the retrospective 1985-2003 double cd yesterday, bloody brillant it is too, and the standout tracks were from Electr-o-pura

they really are a superb band, aren't they.

anyway, for what it's worth

kind of blue - Miles
Vol 4 - Sabs (worth it for the sheer number of amazing riffs)
any of the Nick Drakes
Common one - van the man
sure there are more

I suppose technically both of the only perfect albums were released by Stiff Records

The Wit And Wisdom of Ronald Reagan

The Wit And Wisdom of Margaret Thatcher

Both were blank LPs.
