I'd go for the MC5's myself, it's even rawer and more raucous than either of those.

Hey, Popel V!

Yeah, you got it! All the instros on "No Way Out" and "The Inner Mystique" were done entirely by session men: Definately Richie Podolor on guitar aided by his partner Bill Cooper: but I dunno who played the drums, sitars and other stuff for sure

Don Bennett did the vocals on "Midnight Hour", "Medication" and all the stuff that DOESN'T sound like Mick Jagger, heh

Mojo compilation +..
Nov 13, 2003, 19:29
Hi, late to the thread so I can't read 'em all, but there was a great garage compilation free with Mojo mag a few months ago which introduced me to three of the most demented tracks i've ever heard: Dean Carter's cover of Jailhouse Rock, The Ready Men's 'Shortnin Bread' and my personal fave, The Artesians 'Trick Bag', complete with needle-snapping distorted-beyond-fuckery organ. Does anyone have the compilation - northwest floor fillers or sumtin - that the Artesians track comes from? Worth getting?

Yep you're right Popel Vooje, 'studio' band. I guess the album is as much Ed Cobb's creation as Dave Aguilar et al.

BTW why is your name 'Vooje'?

They have. I have another version of 7 is 7 by The Soulbenders but it lacks the Arse Kick of The Love original.
