Favourite 60s garage comp tracks?
Nov 12, 2003, 13:25
In keeping with the mood of the current AOTM, what are your fave garage comp tracks?

I've always loved the Chob's 'We're pretty quick' from Teenage Shutdown I'm a no count

'Flight Reaction' from Pebbles 3

'Painted Air' by Remaining Few from Acid Dreams
Freaky!!

Syndicats 'Crawdaddy Simone' - several comps, completely whacked-out!

That's enough for now...

I always loved a track called "Are You a Girl or Are You a Boy" that was on an NME garage comp (around 1986). Dunno who it's by, though.

soundtracks?
Nov 12, 2003, 14:08
I saw 'Kill Bill vol. 1' last night, and was a bit surprised to recognise an edited 'Nobody but me' by the Human Beinz in the soundtrack.

Reminded me of watching Lock Stock... and being hit with 'Liar Liar' by (I think) the castaways from Nuggets 1. That was a surprise. And they also had 'I wanna be your dog.'

Some filmmakers have good music taste!

It's by The Barbarians who, incidentally, boasted a one-handed drummer 20 years before Def Leppard.

No, he lost his hand in an accident. If you buy or copy the first "Nuggets" boxed set there's a song about the experience entitled "Moulty".

only had one arm I think. Wasn't he also the singer in that cringe-inducing song 'Don't turn away' also on nuggets one?

'I remember a time when I was weedy and shit, but now I believe I'm strong and can go on and on, and I'm in a band even though I only got one arm... '

Malty was his name?
