I think you'd probably meet a lot of people who own two homes... thru inheritances and the like. If the houses are being used to shelter people and nobody is being ripped off, I can't see much to say about it.
I know a guy who's a landlord. He's got his share of trouble related to being one, you have to take this into account... tenants who don't pay, destroy the property, etc. It's not as profitable a living as some imagine if you have one or two of those types of tenants. The laws are basically in the tenants favor, too.
