The majority of my pics are on the Meg Portal, I will post some on here when I've figured out how to do it & when I've time.

If the reason for you posting pictures of the carvings here is to show others, then the 'others', don't particularly want to see the stones chalked, so you're defeating the object. If its for your own reference, then it may not be wise to post such images, whether you believe chalking to be ok, or not. My own personal belief is that we have responsibility to future generations to protect carvings as much as we can, obviously we're not going to stop lichen growing & sheep cacking on stones, but chalking which is thought to add to erosion can be controlled. I do hope you will take on board peoples concerns on here, as they are genuine.

I live in the rombalds area too & I'm also a rock-art enthusiast/freak too, chalking aside it would be good to meet up.
