I guess the simple answer is that the fertile earth deity cult represented by this Blackstone is in almost complete contrast to the patriarchal culture embodied by the British red brick universities.

Sometimes I think the stone has a kind-of reverse Curse of the Mummy. I survive impossible conditions, man in flat below died in the summer; girl in flat below that broke neck off bike Christmas Eve morning.
