We could quite easily leave the original where imho it belongs and put a replica into a museum. The ardent can visit the site, the crocodile of children with teacher can file past the museum replica.

We are speaking of archaeology which was not "designed" to be something to gawp at out of its context. It was meant to be there.

I firmly believe we are just mere guardians of things which are irreplaceable.
There are ways to protect something without carting it away and it end up in a museum which later finds that it can't display, or worse house everything.
