On this principle everyone should be informed of any digs going on so they can go to help, or just look, even though the site may get damaged. I know some archaeologists are only too happy to have people on site but if hundreds go there will be damage as not everyone knows how to act properly on a dig site
I think fitz is being responsible and caring in the way he has acted
