Thanks - I'd suggest the first as a disrupted Four-poster but those three groups of three are simply wonderful. I hadn't seen those mentioned anywhere previously. Thom's explanation of the laying out of the Moel ty Ucha stone circle utilises equilateral triangles of just those proportions. One of this person's central concepts was that the Megalith builders were 'describing' the stone circles, geometrically, from - usually - a rightangled triangle.

He suggests that the circles were built to observe stellar motion yet it seems more intuitive (!) to consider that they were built to demonstrate stellar motions.
