Sorry FW, I'm a shit writer when I have so much to say in so short a time (and an even shitter one when I've got all day to waffle on and eulogise)

One day soon we'll accept that Goethe was as necessary and as spot on as Newton, i have complete faith in that.

i see a line of perception which roughly can be divided into stageposts as:

science-morphology-metaphysics-mysticism

The ancients I believe had their minds in morphology (no relation!) more than rational science, whither they went either side of that into science and/or metaphysics is also a good question I think. 'Poet is priest' could well be applied to Goethe, although 'Poet is Proof' may not be accepted!
