Well I just had my first listen and enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting!
He bloody gone done and made a silly pop album. It almost reminded me of Interpreter in places.
It’s a lot less dirgey and a lot more sprightly than Self Civil War and he sounds less drunk and more focused than the last few releases.
A bit more pleasantly recorded and mixed as well. I could live without that drum machine, but this is a charming little album and I’m looking forward to having it around.
