I am not defending anybody who is misappropriating expenses - the system needs to be fixed..and those wrong-doers dealt with - disciplined, sacked or jailed as appropriate.
I also agree that the rules on expenses need to be redesigned & restated to reimburse expenses incurred in doing their jobs.
That said, I certainly do not think a politician who happens to be wealthy, should be obliged or expected to forego claiming expenses they are entitled to.
