Mike, you said earlier that it was the intention that counts, or words to that effect. but actually you do seem quite a lot more attached to the symbol, which is just a symbol like any other, and means different things to different people. I think you have things in the wrong order, forget the symbol, intention is far more important. It's relationship, understanding (and I mean understanding of people here not symbols) that brings peace and happiness.
Being of Jewish extraction I would definitely be offended by seeing a swastika at Avebury or anywhere else ike that especially where used to vandalise (even temporarily), an ancient site. It's just a symbol and not worth trying to rehabilitate, dedicate yourself to the real cause not some crack pot historical side track.
